Tighten and Tone with Coffee: Organic Face + Body Scrub

Coffee is something we have been drinking forever. It provides energy for our bodies to last throughout the day; however, many of us aren’t aware of the benefits coffee has externally. Coffee is one of the best ingredients in the tightening and toning process. Apart from drinking black coffee, coffee itself has so many great benefits for the skin. Coffee is full of antioxidants, it can protect your skin from harsh UV Rays, it smooths and brightens the skin, it works as an exfoliant, and it minimizes the appearance of cellulite. With so many great beauty benefits, this simple two ingredient scrub is something you won’t want to leave out of your skin care routine.

In order to create this scrub, you will need the following ingredients;

  • 1/2 cup of ground coffee beans
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil

If you prefer to go the extra mile in your skin care routine, you can purchase both organic ground coffee beans as well as organic coconut oil; however, regular coffee and coconut oil does the trick as well!

Step 1. find any glass or plastic container that can be sealed shut to avoid the product from air exposure. I like to use a mason jar since I can store a lot of product.

Step 2. put your 1/4 cup of coconut oil into a microwave safe container and microwave for 20 seconds, until completely liquified.

Step 3. add your 1/2 cup of ground coffee into the jar and then slowly add your melted coconut oil into the mixture while ensuring it is completely mixed.

Step 4. once the mixture is ready and cooled down, it is ready for use. It’s that simple!

For my face, I tend to use this scrub 3-4 times a week. I don’t use this every day since it is an exfoliant and I have sensative skin. If you like to exfoliate your skin everyday, this is a great scrub for you since it is all natural and contains no fragrance. I like to first wash my face with my daily cleanser to remove any dirt and oils, and then follow with the scrub. I scrub this on my face for about 30 seconds and then let it sit on the skin for about 3-5 minutes. After it has absorbed on my skin, I then remove it with warm water. Once removed, I then use my toner and moisturizer. I tend to use this before bed since it can be time consuming in the morning.

For my body, I like to use this in the shower. I wash my body prior to using the scrub with any body wash cleanser. If you are going to shave, I suggest using the scrub first to exfoliate any dead skin off before using your razor. I take about a palm full and start exfoliating this from my feet to my chest. I like to focus this on areas where I am more dry since the coconut oil is very moisturizing which will lock the vitamins and minerals into the skin. I also like to focus this on the backs of my thighs where cellulite tends to appear as well as my stomach to tighten the skin. I let this sit on my skin while I wash my hair and I allow the water to remove as much as it can, and then I rinse my body throughly to ensure it is all removed. When I get out of the shower, I pat dry and then apply my body lotion. This scrub leaves your skin feeling so soft, nourished and hydrated.

Overall, I love this scrub and its many uses and benefits. I reccomend this scrub to anyone with any skin type since it is so natural and delecate on the skin. It is so quick and easy and makes such a difference on appearance of your skin.

Thank you for taking the time to read how to make this simple DIY scrub! Let me know how this works for you and if you enjoy using this at home.

Talk to you soon! Xx

  1. I love this! I have been using organic coconut oil as a moisturiser forever, but the exfoliation of the coffee grinds really adds another level to my skin care routine! Highly recommend!
