Top 5 Must Have Beauty Products @ School

Hello loves, happy Tuesday!! I apologize for not posting lately; however, I have been MIA for the past few weeks as I have been working like craaazy. Working 48 hours a week definitely takes a toll on your body, so getting back into the routine with school will be quite the relief for me. Fall is approaching (yay!!) and since school is right around the corner, I thought I would write a quick post on my top 5 recommended beauty products to have at school. The products below are all able to be tossed in your purse or book bag, so they are perfect to bring with you to class. I will be posting pictures of my favourite products with links to where you can purchase them. So, if you are interested in learning a few beauty tips to save you during school, please keep reading!

**P.s- clicking on the photo posted will bring you to the direct page where you can purchase each product.

1. Hand Cream

Just like it is essential to moisturize your face after washing it, the same rule applies when washing your hands. Your hands are one of your most used body parts, especially when in school. Whether you’re typing out a lecture or writing down notes, your hands are constantly being put to work! Applying hand cream daily will improve the condition of your hands overtime, and on top of that, there’s no better feeling than having baby soft hands. Especially during the colder days, keeping a travel sized hand cream or lotion in your bag will make it easy and convenient to moisturize your hands in between classes. This hand cream is my absolute favourite, by the brand Tocca! The scent is grapefruit and cucumber which smells amazing and the formula is so hydrating. This can be purchased at your local Sephora.

2. Lip Balm

No matter what season it is, chapped lips are never in style. Keeping your lips moisturized and hydrated will help avoid them from drying out and developing a white cast of dryness. Since the skin of your lips is naturally thin, they don’t produce any natural oils which is why adding a moisturizer such as lip balm is key to avoid dehydration. I think we can all agree that having dry and flaky lips is super irritating, especially during class. So, whether it’s EOS, Burt’s Bees or Nivea, just toss that lip balm in your book bag and you are set! (My favourite is EOS vanilla mint!)

3. Blotting Papers

For my oily girls out there, there is nothing worse than sitting in class and feeling like you could cook food with the oil on your face (obviously I’m being dramatic people). Especially during the warmer months, with walking from class to class and travelling around campus, it is definitely possible to work up a sweat! There is a line between looking dewy, healthy and radiant and then looking sweaty and greasy. This is why I carry blotting papers with me in my purse at all times! These papers are super easy to use as you only need to lightly press the paper over your t-zone (forehead, nose, chin) or any areas that you feel are oily, and the oil is absorbed instantly without removing any of your makeup. There are so many brands that carry inexpensive blotting papers which I will link below!

 4. Pressed powder

Pressed or compact powder is an essential makeup product I keep on me at all times! As you know I do have oily/combination skin, so being able to apply powder to my t-zone throughout the day not only ensures that my oil is controlled, but that my makeup stays in place all day. Even if you have dry or normal skin, I still recommend keeping a pressed powder with you if you do plan on wearing foundation, as this will ensure that your foundation doesn’t slide around on your skin through out the day and that it is set in place. In previous posts I have talked about Rimmel Stay Matte which is my favourite powder because the quality is great. This powder is also drugstore, so the price is right!

5. Eyebrow Gel

Although eyebrow gel is clearly made for the eyebrows, I not only use it to set my brows, but I also use it in my hair. This may sound odd; however, eyebrow gel is designed to hold your hairs in place, so I use my brow gel to hold down my baby hairs around my face. I love wearing my hair back, and since my hair is naturally curly, I find that the hairs that frame my face always want to make an appearance. By combing down my baby hairs with the gel, they are set into place all day and give the illusion of perfectly slicked hair. Doing this provides an easy way for me to achieve a simple, put together hair-do, without looking messy. This is a trick I have been using forever and it is so convenient and easy to just throw in your bag!

Thank you for taking the time to read today! Feel free to add whatever products you believe are essential for back-to-school that benefit you. Have a great school year and good luck to you all!!

Talk to you soon! Xx
