Hello loves, welcome back! Today I am going to be reviewing a very favoured product in the beauty world lately, which is the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation. High Definition foundations are my favourite foundations, especially for nights out when I know I am going to be photographed and wanting my makeup to last all night and remain flawless.
The advanced formula of this foundation specifically acts as a second skin, providing a natural/satin finish that looks like a second skin. For those of you like me who used the original, Make Up Forever HD Foundation, after having loved that foundation for so long, when this one launched, I knew I had to try it. The colour selection for this foundation is incredible as it ranges from several colours regarding cool, warm and neutral undertones (for those of you wondering, my pale self uses shade “Y235”).
This foundation is suited for combination to dry skin types, as it is not a matte or full coverage foundation which would benefit those who are oily to very oily. I myself am combination to oily as I tend to get oily in my t-zone, but the rest of my face is dry. For nights when I am going out, I tend to use a mattifying foundation in my t-zone, like Estée Lauder Double-Wear, and then apply the Make Up Forever Ultra HD on the other areas of my face. For every day purposes, I will most likely just wear the Make Up Forever, and just add extra powder on the areas I tend to get oily. If you are dry to combination, I highly recommend this foundation if you are searching for a natural looking, HD foundation. This provides great coverage and truly looks amazing in photos which is a necessity in this selfie taking society. If you are oily to very oily, I wouldn’t recommend this foundation, unless you are dedicated to adding some extra powder and potentially needing to blot/powder throughout the day.
Another bonus of this foundation that really pushed me towards purchasing it is the fact that it has a pump dispenser (HALLELUJAH!!!!) This feature makes applying the foundation so much easier and mess free! I love being able to pump a controlled amount of product onto my palette to avoid wasting product by pouring too much or spilling it.
Price: $50.00 CAD.
Coverage: Light-medium, with build-able coverage (I have freckles and mine still peak through)
Finish: Satin finish
Application: Mac “130” Short Duo Fibre Brush for fuller coverage
Texture: Lightweight on the skin, liquid gel type texture
Lasting-power: 5-6 hours before needing to blot/powder the t-zone; however, it did not budge or fade off of the face for 8 hours
Rating: 5/5- would highly recommend
I will have pictures posted below to show you guys how well it photographs for those of you who are interested!
