Hello loves! Now that finals are almost complete and Christmas break is shortly approaching, I thought I would post a few holiday themed makeup looks for you guys to use as inspiration for your holiday makeup this year! This look today is very dramatic, so if you’re anything like me, this is perfect for you. Later this month I will be posting a classic gold eye and red lip for those of you who don’t want to be so bold for their holiday events. In the meantime, if you’re interested is seeing how I achieved this emerald, glittery green holiday glam, please keep reading!
To begin the eyes, I went in with my Urban Decay Primer Potion to prime the eye for the shadow, and set that primer in place with a bone coloured shadow. By setting your primer with a powder, this will help the colours you add later blend smoother and glide on the eye without looking patchy or chalky.
For my transition crease colour, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow in the shade “Warm Taupe” and “Caramel” and ran that right above my crease using a large blending brush. If you don’t have these specific shades, that is fine! You can use any warm toned soft brown to achieve this. By doing this, it will create a gradient to the eyes when adding darker colours, portraying a seamless and blended eye look.
Once the transition is applied, I then used a Sephora eyeshadow in the shade “Anniversary” all over the lid which is a beautiful dark, navy blue/emerald shade with flecks of green glitter throughout it. Directly on top of that, right in the center of the lid, I applied another Sephora eyeshadow in the shade “Three Apples” which is a bright shimmery green shade. By overlapping such a dark shadow with a brighter green, this added the illusion of a deep green, without too much intensity and brightness.
To smoke out the lower lash line, I again took “Caramel” and “Warm Taupe” on a pencil brush and added a tiny amount of “Three Apples”. To add more intensity to the lower portion of the eye, I used an emerald green eye pencil in the water line which was the Essence Gel Eye Pencil Waterproof in the shade “Urban Jungle 03”.
To highlight the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone, I used the shade “Shroom”, by Mac. For this look, I skipped liner as I felt that the eyeshadow was the main focus and I didn’t want to draw away any attention from that. For lashes I used a current favourite of mine which are the Rock Style Love lashes in the style “Rock Star”.
To highlight and contour, I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. I skipped an illuminator and blush for this look as I preferred to have matte skin while the eyes remained very smokey and glittery.
And this completes this smokey, glittery, emerald green holiday look! Thank you for taking the time to read today and I hope you all enjoyed this look. Happy Holidays to everyone and may your time with family and friends be fabulous!
Talk to you soon. Xx.
