Dark Chocolate: Eye Makeup Look

Hello readers, welcome back to my blog!! I recently posted a makeup look on Instagram of a look a did for my boyfriend’s birthday! I loved the way it turned out so I figured I would do a quick post on the details of the eyes in case anyone was interested in the products as well as the technique I used to achieve it. I always find myself gravitating to more natural warm toned eye looks- so I was definitely straying away from my go-to look; however, I was very pleased with how it turned out! If you’re interested in seeing how I created this dark chocolate smokey eye, please keep reading!

For this look, I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette, which can be purchased at Sephora and Ulta. maxresdefault

To prep the eyes for the shadow, I went in with my Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer, and then added a light wash of translucent powder to set the primer in place. s1575000-main-hero

To start of the look, I took the shade “Salted Caramel”, a warm camel brown, on a Sigma E35 Blending Brush and added that back and forth right above my crease, all the way from outer corner to inner corner. salted c.jpg

To deepen up the look, I took “Semi-Sweet” which is a true brown, on a Luxie 229 Blending Brush, which is a bit more dense and narrow than the Sigma E35, and blended that into the crease, right below where I placed “Salted Caramel”.semi.jpg

I then applied “Cherry Cordial” which is a rich brown with a deep purple undertone, all over the eyelid on a Sigma E55 Flat Brush and generously packed the colour all over the lid and stopped it right where the shade “Semi-Sweet” started. cherry.jpg

To blend the shades together, I went back in with the Luxie 229 and picked up both “Semi-Sweet” and “Milk Chocolate” and blended both of those above the “Cherry Cordial” to create a seamless blend and gradient effect.

For the lower lash line, I took a mix of “Salted Caramel”, “Semi-Sweet” and “Cherry Cordial” and applied those along the lower lash line with a Real Techniques Detailer Brush.

On the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone, I applied the shade “Champagne Truffle” which is a beautiful pearl pink shimmer, using a Sigma E30 Pencil Brush.champ.jpg

For the water line I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Pencil in the shade “Base 1” to open up the eyes. s1622075-main-hero.jpg

For lashes, I used my Kiss Lashes in the style, “Poise”, which are a very natural wispy lash. KISS-LooksSoNatural-Double-Pack-Poise-madamemadelineb.jpg

And that completes the entire eye look! I chose not to include any of the complexion details as nothing has changed much from my routine- if you do have any questions feel free to comment below and please check out my Instagram account for updates and details! https://www.instagram.com/glambysam_/  Thank you for taking the time today to read this post, I hope you enjoyed!

Talk to you soon! Xx
