Coping with weather change is something that I always struggle with throughout the seasons. Of course during the winter it is almost effortless to bundle up in your overcoats, boots and gloves, but the true efforts commence when we are bounded between the transitional seasons. Come morning, it is sunny and pleasant and by noon, it is blustery and rainy. This constant back and forth between weather conditions inspired me to put these looks together.
I have pieced together a really simple outfit: a white three-quarter sleeve tee, black high waisted jeans, a statement belt, and some thigh high boots. In this style guide, you will indulge in the different ways I like to style my transitional coats while maintaining an effortless look! Each one of these coats are so unique and contrasting to one another and will surely complete your entire look!
Pink is a colour that I don’t typically reach for, but I lala-love the look of this pink trench duster coat. Duster coats are one of my favourites because they are chic, stylish and can dress up any outfit you throw them on top of. This jacket has a self-tie sash belt which I really appreciate for the fall and end of winter because I have the option to leave the coat open-faced or wrapped.
Any form of denim to me is a, yes! I purchased this oversized, black denim jacket at a vintage shop in Vancouver last year when I was there for Fashion Week. I love how the gold hardware on this jacket contrasts against the black denim—it gives such an edgy vibe.
A wool knee-length coat is a piece that I think every woman should have in their closet. This style looks great on everybody and it makes any outfit look professional and polished. I love that this is open-faced because it doesn’t overpower your look. I like this jacket in particular because it is super lightweight but it still provides warmth!
I picked up this powder blue, wool-blend coat at Guess a few months ago and it is safe to say that I am obsessed! I was skeptical about purchasing this at first because I have never owned anything this colour, but I am so happy that I did. I think that this colour is flattering on so many different skin tones and the style is so easily wearable.
I have owned this trench coat for a little over a year and it is one of my most reached for coats. In my opinion when it comes to coats, nothing compares in terms of weight, classiness and versatility. Trench coats are such a timeless staple in my wardrobe, but I have to say that the OG, nude trench coat will always be my go-to! This exact coat is also on major discount right now, so if you are interested I would definitely check it out!
